About

Bianca Allen is an Afro-Latino artist based in Brooklyn, specializing in ceramic sculpture. Over the past 10 years, she has balanced teaching while developing her ceramic practice at Education Alliance. She’s currently creating figurative sculptures representing the female form, weaving together elements of Afrocentrism, floral themes, and her personal identity.

Her practice stems from the lack of Black representation in classical art. She hopes Black women can see themselves in the artwork and recognize their own beauty, worth, and potential. Her sculptures aim to create a space where imagination thrives, fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment for all who encounter her work.

Her art serves as a platform to challenge prevailing beauty norms, advocating for body diversity and inclusivity. In a world shaped by biases and stigmas, she seeks to honor and uplift the beauty and presence of women, instilling confidence in those who share her likeness.
